Letter to the people:

Greetings in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ. Let me first introduce myself before getting into the core of this message. My name is Dick Webster, Pastor of C.A.V.E. (Creation Account Versus Evolution) Ministries, based in Columbus, MS. We travel to teach the truth of Creation according to the Bible and expose the lies of evolution. In addition I am available to preach Gods Word at any time.

Due to our unique ministry, we are taking on the task of bringing churches together to support Bill #25, which has been introduced into the Mississippi House of Representatives. On a side note, this type of bill has been introduced twice in the past but failed because the legislature didn’t hear words of support from the people. We feel this is a monumental task that the church can get involved with and Christians need to get involved with in order to get it passed this time. The faith of our children is at hand when it comes to the subject of evolution in our schools. Some latest statistics say that 3 out of 4 children who are raised in a Christian home and Church will leave their faith by the end of their first year of college due to evolution as it makes them question the validity of Genesis. If they question Genesis why wouldn’t they question John or even Revelation? We must stand and fight this time to do what we can for our children.

Bill 25 basically makes the school system place a sticker stating what evolution really is on the inside cover of any textbook that teaches or even mentions the philosophy of evolution. Our children then knowing that evolution is an “unproven philosophy” would at least be given the opportunity to “think” about what is being taught and not have to sit there and be brainwashed into believing something that can’t even be proven.

This would open the door for parents and churches to teach our children and teens the Bible without them having a preconceived idea about the Bible that is not even true. Our school systems should have no problem with a simple sticker stating a fact (which is what education is supposed to be about – facts), but they are already getting ear of this bill and gathering against it. We must stand up for what is right! A simple Google search for Mississippi Bill 25 shows how much anger is growing over this Bill, and as of yet I don’t see any who are supporting Bill 25. Again I say to you we must stand up for what is right for our children!

We are asking each church to get a point of contact who will help their congregration in getting the names of their local Representatives, phone numbers, and or emails, so the people can contact them and tell them kyou want this Bill 25 passed. We are planning a meeting in Columbus, MS at First Assembly of God to get more information and what each church can do to get our voice heard, the date and time of this meeting will be forthcoming as we gather more information. We will also be posting on our website HYPERLINK "http://www.caveministries.com" www.caveministries.com contact information for each legislator in Mississippi so you can access it quickly. We must contact our men and women of the House or Representatives to let them know we want this bill passed. If it is too far to drive to Columbus, I would ask churches to gather together in your area and I will be happy to come to your meeting to talk to the people. Time is short and we must act quickly!

Update – The Bill is currently in the House Education Committee so we will be also posting the Representatives Names on that committee on our website. If your representative is on that committee it is URGENT that you contact them immediately. These Representatives only care about the voices in their district so we need everybody’s help in this venture.

House Bill 25

AN ACT TO REQUIRE THE STATE BOARD OF EDUCATION TO INCLUDE CERTAIN LANGUAGE EXPLAINING THAT EVOLUTION IS A THEORY IN THE INSIDE FRONT COVER OF CERTAIN PUBLIC SCHOOL TEXTBOOKS; AND FOR RELATED PURPOSES.

     BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI:

     SECTION 1.  The State Board of Education shall require every textbook that includes the teaching of evolution in its contents to include the following language on the inside front cover of the textbook:

     "The word 'theory' has many meanings, including: systematically organized knowledge; abstract reasoning; a speculative idea or plan; or a systematic statement of principles.  Scientific theories are based on both observations of the natural world and assumptions about the natural world.  They are always subject to change in view of new and confirmed observations.

     This textbook discusses evolution, a controversial theory some scientists present as a scientific explanation for the origin of living things.  No one was present when life first appeared on earth.  Therefore, any statement about life's origins should be considered a theory.

     Evolution refers to the unproven belief that random, undirected forces produced living things.  There are many topics with unanswered questions about the origin of life which are not mentioned in your textbook, including:  the sudden appearance of the major groups of animals in the fossil record (known as the Cambrian Explosion); the lack of new major groups of other living things appearing in the fossil record; the lack of transitional forms of major groups of plants and animals in the fossil record; and the complete and complex set of instructions for building a living body possessed by all living things.      Study hard and keep an open mind."

     SECTION 2.  This act shall take effect and be in force from and after July 1, 2009.
