In the Bible you can find many warnings against lies and things that can deture you away from God.
In the book of Jeremiah, Chapter 2 verse 27:
"Saying to a stock, Thou art my father; and to a stone, Thou hast brought me forth: for they hast brought me forth: for they have turned their back unto me, and not their face: but in the time of their trouble they will say, Arise, and save us."
Note the Greek word for Stock is a tree or wood. And stone being just that.
It's interesting to note one of the many theories being tought to support Evolution is the idea that when there was no life, lightning struck a stone creating a single cell that then split and grew to the first life form. Thus, believing in that is calling a stone your creator or father.
The Chapter goes on:
"28)But where are thy gods that thou hast made thee? let them arise, if they can save thee in the time of thy trouble: for according to the number of thy cities are thy gods, O Judah. 29)Wherefore will ye plead with me? ye all have transgressed against me, saith the Lord. 30)In vain have I smitten your children; they received no correction: your own sword hath devoured your prophets, like a destroying lion."
Don't turn your back upon your Creator. He loves you and wishes for your love to seek him.
